The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter has taken the best orbital image yet of the Curiosity rover and its landing area. The new high-resolution image, just released this morning, shows a long strip of the terrain around the rover including the rover itself and some of the huge dark sand dunes, buttes and mesas to the south, which flank Mount Sharp (just out of view). To see all of the detail, go to the full-size image and zoom in!
