‘Back from the dead’: new analysis says exoplanet Fomalhaut b is real

Among the many exoplanets now being discovered, Fomalhaut B was considered something special – the first exoplanet to be directly photographed in visible light, by the Hubble Space Telescope, back in 2008. That is, until more recent studies suggested that it might not be real, not even a planet after all.

New European space telescope will study ‘super-Earth’ exoplanets

An amazingly wide variety of exoplanets are now being discovered orbiting other stars and some of the most interesting are those referred to as “super-Earths,” rocky worlds which are typically a little larger to a few times bigger than Earth.

Curiosity rover eats Martian dirt and finds unusual ‘bright particles’

For the first time since landing, the Curiosity rover has delivered its first soil sample to the Chemistry and Mineralogy (CheMin) instrument, which is right now being analyzed to determine the mineral composition. The sample was successfully delivered to CheMin on October 17.
